Just a little something I have been working on lately, I just ordered the test swatch tonight and provided it all looks good, it will be on sale at Spoonflower. Thanks Jess, Jolene and Dan for the Spoonflower gift certificate, I got to have some creative fun with no money out of my pocket!!! I just hope the colors look okay its always a challenge with working from the screen colors to print colors…

Patience…

August 18th, 2010 — 2:24pm

Please have patience with me. I swear I am up to something. Somethings actually, inspired by

Ingela P Arrhenius and my son’s birthday. Even better, this will be up in my Etsy shop (Hopefully), so others can have a piece of the ideas that run through my brain. But until then…  a clue of things to come… Hopefully…. with patience….

Lefse Princess

December 1st, 2009 — 6:32pm

Christmas Present in the making, originally uploaded by hannahlaura.

Our house is buzzing with activity, I am getting that middle of pregnancy rush, just hope it lasts longer than last time. One Christmas project was completed this morning, a very cool little girl I know will be getting these lefse labels, complete with her own portrait to put on all her bags of lefse she seems to be making these days. If you know this little girl, please don’t tell her, Christmas surprises are the best.

So my favorite season begins…

September 28th, 2009 — 2:31pm

Waking up under a warm down comforter, with an extra quilt on top, baby and mommy underneath. Cool air streaming through the windows, with remnants of last nights rainstorms in the current. This is truly my favorite season. I am sitting here with a thick wrap-around cardigan and polar fleece blanket over my knees, warm cup of coffee between my arms as my fingers warm on the keyboard. The agenda for the day, a shower, trying to quilt the quilt mom gave me, finishing an audio book and lots of playtime with Zuppa Tuscana soup for supper. Loving life.

A day of Thrift…

September 15th, 2009 — 8:44pm

and you turn up with a gem like this, not a single scratch. Sometimes a record is so much better, especially when you are listening to Puff the Magic Dragon. It makes you think of beanbags and cordorouy pants. Really it is great, I would suggest this to all. (Just as a side note, on our record it is just a full bleed photo and the kids are in a different arrangement, with “Mary” coming first. The only image I could find was of the CD cover.)

Jack Henry Mood Board, originally uploaded by hannahlaura.

Okay it totally bugs me that the last two squares are empty on the mood board, but after cropping, deleting and saving for two hours I am calling it a night. If you can’t tell inspiration is derived from, Charlie Harper, Vintage Circus and WPA posters. Looks to me like adventure, knowledge and fun. That’s what little boys are made of.

So the hubby thinks we should go camping….

August 14th, 2009 — 2:32am

and I, well I am much more of a car camper, packing my TWO pillows and my favorite blankie.  He on the other hand, can fit a weeks worth of food and clothing in the smallest backpack I have ever seen.  Yeah, I don’t think thats gonna happen for me. Plus to me camping is all about the food. So in the effort of a compromise, I have been looking for ideas on camp cooking, and came across this great article at Craftzine. I especially love the idea of just taking a wok. Huh, what was that Pad Thai under the Northen Lights, I wish!

Where did this summer go??

August 11th, 2009 — 1:55pm

Hey mom!, originally uploaded by hannahlaura.

Oh August, a month so busy with family going ons, a wedding aniversary, bachelor party, a first birthday. So when do you breath? That last summer air, pick the last summer flowers. Gather all those tomatoes. You squeeze it all in and make sure you smile while you do it. You prioritze the hell out of it and be suprised at the little things that go to the top of the list. A trip to the library, a score at the 2nd hand store (more on that later.) Yawn, naps are necessary too.

Why babies are fun

Originally uploaded by hannahlaura

When I watch this, I think of how little he was, how I lift him so easily, how happy he coos. I keep watching and start to think OMG what am I doing to the kid, no wonder he has no fear and will head down the couch headfirst. Climb a whole flight of stairs the first time he ever climbs stair. It’s mom’s fault, you are a daredevil. ( and yes the little monkey is with his grandparents to day and mom is missing him a little.)
